Fayard Winemaking is an established consulting company in Napa Valley, California. We manage three wineries (Fayard Winemaking, Covert Estate and Martin Estate) and a wine shop (Maison Fayard) as well as a large portfolio of diverse wine brands.
The position will start between April and June and last until the end of the year with a possibility of visa extension for the right candidate. We will consider J-1 visa and longer-term position.
The work will involve assisting our winemaking team in all aspects of the winery and consulting business. The candidate will be exposed to all facets of wine work related to very high-end small-batch winemaking.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to vineyard monitoring, sampling and wet chemistry, quality control for fruit processing and press operations, fermentation monitoring, must additions, pump-overs, barrel work, and sanitation.
The ideal candidates will possess great people skills, hard work ethics and attention to detail. They will also help lead the intern team throughout harvest with guidance from the cellarmaster and assistant winemaker.
This is a great opportunity to gain knowledge and experience by working with several grape varieties from all over Napa Valley and observing many different winemaking styles and techniques.
